The Directors
Matt and Monique Pines
Owner/Directors
Monique moved to the USA from her native Canada to attend university, and spent her summers working at MTC as a camp counselor starting in 1996. Monique (B.A, B.Ed, M.Ed) began her career as a school teacher, then took the job as the Assistant Director at MTC for several years beginning in 1998. Since becoming Director in 2004, Monique oversees all areas of administration, including staff and camper management.
Matt (B.A., M.Ed), from rural New South Wales, Australia, began working for camp in 1997. A former Program Director and Manager, Matt now directs all areas of camp business, administration, and facility care. Matt is an active board member of Maine Youth Camping Association.
Matt and Monique operate the off-season camp office, and are on-site Directors during the summer. With the summer team of administrative professionals, together they share the challenges and joys of working with an amazing group of young people.
Kris Kamys
Co-Director
As a founding Director of Maine Teen Camp, Kris offers a wealth of knowledge and over 40 years of experience in both the camping industry and education. Kris holds a M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts and has been both a public and private high school teacher of English. During the summer season, he acts as a Co-Director and oversees our Health Center.
Sarah Lentz
Program Director
Sarah began working for MTC in 2002 as a camp counselor. Sarah holds her B.A. in Theater from Denison University in Ohio. Once a head counselor at MTC, Sarah moved into the position of full time Program Director, working to plan and implement all areas of camp programming and coordination of activities, camper recruitment, and office administration.
